Independent ocular testing found no clinically significant change in visual acuity or intraocular pressure under study conditions. It contains no bimatoprost, latanoprost, or any prescription drug. Its active ingredient is dechloro ethylcloprostenolamide, a cosmetic-grade prostaglandin analogue.

MD Lash Factor has been evaluated under ophthalmologist supervision, with no ophthalmic irritation observed and no clinically significant change in intraocular pressure under study conditions. It was negative in Ames mutagenicity testing, non-cytotoxic, and non-sensitizing in repeat insult patch testing. The study panel included contact lens wearers and people with self-assessed sensitive eyes. Stop use if irritation persists. The formula is also EU Safety Assessment approved (EC1223-2009).
